Lou spent a year as a Political Columnist for a newspaper. His Common Sense column appeared every other week on the op-ed page of the North Hills News-Record, a Gannett paper that was widely circulated in suburban Pittsburgh.

Informed by Lou's political connections, the column covered politics at the municipal level, and featured Lou's opinions on everything from election signage to a proposed municipal merger.

Lou's Letters to the Editor have been appearing ever since he was in high school. They typically cover some aspect of local or national politics.

He got into Newspaper Design when he created a faux edition of the Pitsburgh Post-Gazette to report on one of his birthday parties. The humorous knock-off was widely appreciated by his guests and others who read it. A second edition was printed the following year, and more are anticipated in the future.
