UDT-SEAL Association. For alumni of Navy commando units (Lou was an officer in Beach Jumper Unit TWO).

IEEE, The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. Electrical engineering professional society.

Mensa, an international society with one qualification for membership: a score in the top 2% of the population on a standardized intelligence test.

ARRL, The American Radio Relay League. Technical, fraternal and lobbying organization of licensed amateur radio operators.

Healthcare Financial Management Association. Professional association of healthcare financial executives.

PAPEN, The Pennsylvania Professional Employment Network. Career networking organization for executives, managers, and professionals.

Instrument Society of America. Professional society of persons involved in industrial instrumentation, systems, and automation.

Pittsburgh Jung Society. (Now defunct) Persons interested in the work of C. G. Jung.

Boy Scouts of America. Character-building organization for boys and young men. Lou was a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Explorer Scout. His father was a Boy Scout before him, and his son was a Boy Scout, too.
